We are a dedicated team of staff and consultants who have many years of experience and service in the Adult Education and Literacy field.
Propel Leadership
Jamie Trujillo is the Executive Director of the New Mexico Adult Education Association (NMAEA). NMAEA oversees the Propel Professional Learning System. Jamie is a TBR-certified instructor and produces Connect with Adult Ed: The NMAEA Podcast. Jamie has worked in the adult education field since 2005 and served as an instructor, data professional, coordinator, and director for a local program before transitioning to NMAEA. She currently serves on the Mountain Plains Adult Education Association (MPAEA) and the Coalition on Adult Basic Education (COABE) boards.
Tina Hite is Propel's Director. She has been working in adult education in various capacities since 1994. She has tutored, taught HSE classes, coordinated, and managed the program at UNM-Valencia. She has been involved with professional learning in adult education throughout her career and became the leader of the Distance Education and Learning Technologies (DELT) team in 2014. Her responsibilities expanded to the development of NM's professional learning system, Propel, in 2020.
Propel Coordinators
Rebecca (she/her) is a Professional Learning Coordinator for PropelNM and is based in Albuquerque. She has worked for more than 20 years as an ESL instructor and program coordinator in New Mexico, Washington, and Texas. Her professional interests include curriculum design, integrated and contextualized ESL instruction in career pathways courses, online instruction, TSTM, and, of course, supporting instructors. Rebecca has an MATESOL and is always up to chat about language learning.
Nadia is currently a Professional Learning Coordinator for Propel. They coordinate the DELT team and projects. They have worked in adult education as a Pre-HSE/HSE instructor and an instructional coordinator for over six years. They have taught both asynchronous and synchronous online courses and also taught in person. Nadia can assist with instructional design, G Suite, creating designs in Canva, theoretical grounded instruction, course design, and finding resources (instructional and technical).
Carrie is Propel’s Literacy Coordinator. She is passionate about supporting literacy programs. She has worked in adult education and literacy for many years as tutor, ESL instructor, writing coach, education specialist, and program coordinator. Her education is in English and Secondary English Education with certifications in TESOL and creative writing. Her special interests include cognitive science, curriculum design, using music and literature in instruction, and workplace wellness.
